Lab Members to Participate in SPACE on Ryder Farm Residency

SPACE on Ryder Farm recently announced the 2017 residents who will develop new work on its 221-year-old working farm this summer.2017 season of residency programs, including The Working Farm, Family Residency, Creative Solutions Symposium, Creative Residency, Institutional Residency and inaugural Film Lab, and Playwriting Mentorship Residency.

Ma-Yi’s Andrew W. Mellon Foundation National Resident Playwright and Lab Co-director, Mike Lew has been selected for the Creative Residency program, along with Lab  Member, Sam Chanse.

Newly recruited Writers Lab Member David Zheng was also awarded a Playwriting Mentorship Residency which offers emerging writers a week-long residency. This year SPACE has made all individual and small group residences free, and has granted at least 50 percent of its residencies to persons of color and underrepresented voices. The organization has also doubled the number of spaces for the Family Residency, in association with the Lilly Awards Foundation.
